At around 8am this morning PolyVector and I had one of the biggest scares ever. Prancer had a grand mal seizure. Apparently he has been having very small seizures that we thought were him cramping up. I feel so stupid for not putting these two things together for so long. Prancer back in 2002 had an extremely terrible car accident which resulted in half of his cranium being smashed. The doctors did warn my mom that he would probably end up with seizures or total blindness. This definitely is going to change the way we take care of him, including his diet and exercise. This coming Tuesday we are making the long drive down to California to finish our move and I hope everything goes well.

I know this may be a long shot, but if anyone knows or can recommend anything concerning epilepsy in dogs please leave us a comment. You better believe we are doing all the research we can online and as soon as the move is complete will be consulting a vet.

And I just want to say that seeing Prancer go into a full grand mal seizure is something I would never want to have happen to anyone else’s pets. He is doing well right now and comfortably relaxing in his bed. We have drawn all the shades and keeping a very calm atmosphere.

In three more days we are going t be getting our moving truck and begin the task of moving to California. That means much less time for me to write the incredibly interesting articles you see here on Atomac every day. I will be packing up my computer either tomorrow or Sunday and that will mean the only way to get ahold of me will be email until after the 30th. If I find any time to post I will probably just use the iPhone, but I am hoping our internet will be up quickly once we get to Southern California. We have ordered all our utilities and internet ahead of time, so hopefully there won’t be too much of a delay. Well, it is breakfast time here and afterwards more packing is to be done. Hope everyone has an interesting Friday and the weekend find them well!
