I have no idea what is going on lately, but LifeHacker has really been going nuts posting our projects (ok, considering we only have 2 redistributable projects that doesn’t say much). Yesterday UberIcon was featured.

It’s weird, even though we have been featured in tons of PC magazines, I always get a kick when a site I read ritually happens to have a project we made.
Update: Forgot to include a link to UberIcon, silly me.
When I got up this morning I was greeted with a tweet from @aowe saying RocketDock was up on LifeHacker for best application launcher. The article goes over both Windows and Mac OS X application launchers, and we have some pretty good competition. It’s always cool to see RocketDock up somewhere.

Let me start off by saying this isn’t going to be your typical post walking you through using del.icio.us as a bookmark manager. Nope, I have some different plans.
Since my browser of choice happens to be Safari my abilities to use del.icio.us as my sole bookmark manager is limited. You can get Firefox-esque integration using DeliciousSafari (shareware), but I am not a huge fan of SMBL and it so happens DeliciousSafari updates too slow. Now I could go on about different ways to manage you bookmarks with del.icio.us as a Safari user, but I want to go a different direction. I have decided to use del.icio.us as a bookmark archive. The sites a frequent each day are a small few thanks to RSS, and instead of cluttering up my bookmarks menu with sites I might go to once every few months or even a year, it is nice to have them somehwere. Here is where del.icio.us comes in.
With Cocoalicious at my side I have the perfect setup for archiving my favoirte sites, software, news and art (like wallpapers or icons). Cocoalicious is a Mac desktop client for del.icio.us. It integreates well with Safari and NetNewsWire. I have also come to enjoy using del.icio.us as a way to share links in an unobtrusive way. I find it extremely easy and useful to subscribe to the “links for you” personal RSS feed to see any new articles or sites my friends and family want to share with me.
You can check out my current collection of software and sites by going to: http://del.icio.us/Skunkietronic
Feel free to send me links to software, articles, or videos that you think I might enjoy. My bookmark archive is still a work in progress. I have add my favorite software and sites and will soon be working my way through my RSS feeds to add my favorite news sites.
I will be adding links a little later, I composed this article on my iPhone.
Poor Atomac has been grossly neglected this year. I actually enjoy blogging very much and despite the new projects PolyVector and I are currently working on regarding web development and pro blogging, I am still very committed to keeping Atomac a live. I have never been forced to manage my writing time or thoughts between too many projects, so this is a first for me. It is very easy to get in a lull and I am hoping to learn a lot from this experience.
I am currently working on updating Atomac’s theme, in case you couldn’t tell from some of the out of place elements on the site. This is also going to be a new test of Twitter Tools for me. Hopefully I will be able to balance my personal blogging, professional blogging, and Twitter to create a more rich user and personal blogging journey.
About the new professional blog, PolyVector and I have a lot of ideas regarding the new site. it will hopefully house some of our new projects. This isn’t going to replace Punk Labs, but be another place for users more geared towards web development and site administration. While we are still interested in software development, web development has always been a field that yields some amazing possibilities.
So be sure to stay tuned, you never know what us crazies are going to be up to next!
The past month has completely extremely unproductive. I have had a few articles planned out for Atomac but haven’t had the motivation to do anything. I am hoping this unmotivational article will help boost me into the next few I would like to get done for the evening.
Last month here in the US was Tax month. The time where most people can fill out their EZ forms and send them off to our government and get a little bit back from overpaying on their monthly paychecks. It isn’t so nice when you run your own business, even if it is an online one. I am not going to go into extreme detail, but the various forms are pretty complicated. PolyVector usually handles the forms via TurboTax (or whatever tends to be better at the time). I usually just make sure all expenses get files somewhere semi-organized. it is about time we get a filing cabinet.
And now to cut into something completely different (I don’t wanna spend this entire article talking about taxes, ew), the new project we gave little info about earlier concerning my professional blogging is still under wraps. We are having a design crisis. As soon as we can get something semi-tolerable. If anyone knows any nice WordPress template sites (pay-for or free) I would be happy to have a look.
