Introductions, Goals, and Tone
by Skunkie
It’s funny, when you first setup a blog and sit down to write the very first post you think in terms of introducing yourself, the goals you want to accomplish during the lifetime of your blog, and of course the whole tone of your topic(s). And why is that funny? Well, I don’t really know anyone who sits around and reads all the back articles on a blog. So your clever little introduction is a hidden secret between you and your loyal readers who started with you from the very beginning. Thus, this article is dedicated to those of you who are starting out with me. Enjoy!
Lets Get the Awkwardness Out of the Way
I’m not exactly one to ramble on about myself, so let me make this short. My day job is running a software company with my boy friend. You’ll know us strictly by our pseudonyms. His being “PolyVector” and mine being “Skunkie”. Our company is Punk Labs. Instead of rambling on about it, you can check out the link and see all our projects. Our home life is pretty simple. He loves to code, I love coffee, and we’re both tech and coffee geeks. We have a 17 year old chihuahua named Prancer, who is basically our child. ‘Nuff said, lets go on…
Here’s What You Came For
I’m hoping you are reading this to ultimately gather some information about coffee. While I am in no capacity a professional, I am a growing amateur. I love the journey of figuring out what coffees work best for PolyVector and me. This includes different brewing methods, coffees, and roasts. Which can get a bit overwhelming at times. I’m hoping to provide more of a journal to those interested in other’s opinions and decisions on their setups. That’s all I can honestly offer. And I am also hoping to engage some of you in discussions regarding the choices I’ve made, why you think they might wrong, or why you went with something else. My methods might not be correct, so if you see me doing something wrong, speak up!
So, welcome to Atomac.net!
Oooo! The site looks awesome. I love it! Nice and simple. Very clean. Can’t wait to hear more about coffee ventures. :D
Thanks bean! There’s still a lot of work that needs to be done. Custom header maybe. fix the stock links at the bottom that go nowhere. More pictures on the About page. Get some videos up. But I figured I’ll take my time and build as I go. This is more for fun than strictly serious coffee archiving.
Damn. There is a the blog how it damn well should be: it événement feels like paper!
Thankies Atama! Or should I say Atrament now? I figured focus on the content, not the design. Simple is always best.
Love the new site, I’d like to steal the design. :) Especially loving the content. Mmmm Coffee.
Thanks, coredump. I wish I could take credit for the design, but I cannot. This is Manifest for WordPress. I’m glad people are receptive to my content focus change. :)
