Liquid Amber Blend

Caffé macchiato

The very last of my blend experiment (not counting when I actually take on making my own blends), Sweet Maria’s Liquid Amber Blend. This blend is pretty much a one trick pony, but it does that trick well.

This blend was designed with one thing in mind, to take on the often over powering addition of milk. You might not think much about it, but milk over powers coffee quite easily. Some people might like milk with a touch of coffee flavor, but personally I like it the other way around. The Liquid Amber blend provides just that in just about any espresso milk drink. Keeping the roast at a Vienna brings out a very nice musty, earthy flavor. The blend doesn’t really have all the chocolate, berry, or other notes you might expect. I really wanted to show off this blend before roasted since it has the addition of a white coffee known as “monsooned coffee”. Took me by surprise the first time I received it. Perhaps I’ll have to snag a picture the next time I bring this coffee in. Instead I went with the caffé macchiato I made before writing this up. My milk frothing isn’t consistent yet, but I am making progress. The Liquid Amber Blend is one of my favorite coffees to use in milk, but it doesn’t work well as an americano, or a straight shot.
