New Server Means Atomac is the Guinea Pig

Alrighty, we have decided on a company to go with for our dedicated server and they have already set it up and are ready for us to move on over. It was actually a pretty quick setup. We bought the server before bed, woke up and its ready to go. This means it is now time for us to move on over all our sites. Atomac will be the first to test the new server’s abilities.

For those whom we are hosting email there could be some down time and a bit of weirdness when we change over the DNS to the new IP. I am also going to assume there will be some changes regarding IMAP/POP3/SMTP/Webmail addresses. I will hopefully catch those of you on IM to give you any updated info.

Lets hope this goes smoothly and I will provide any updates along the way.

I’ll try the comment section. I hope that you have a better server and tech support than the last one. well, here goes. LOL

Oh, we have been having problems with the new server all day. Atomac doesn’t even run on the new server…so this is still the old server. The DNS has not been transfered until we are sure WordPress can run (which is the least demanding of all the sites/CMSs we use).

Unfortunately that also means these comments might be lost if we get it working as we have a backup from this morning.
