So a few days ago I was having some funky over heating problems with my iMac. But in case you haven’t noticed I still have been posting. Turns out that I got it fixed and maintaining a good temperature range. I haven’t sacrificed any of my apps or goodies, so that is a good sign. Though I am currently not running the Folding@Home client. So to insure my proper temps here is what I did:
1. Opened up my iMac to show the world its nekkid glory and clean up all the dust clogging its fans and sitting on any parts.
2. I set my Processor Performance to Reduced in the Energy Saver settings. I have not noticed any performance loss, but I do not play any games and the largest application I currently use is iPhoto.
So after 2 full days of monitoring under different settings I am staying within my range of 140-150ºF for my CPU and under 131ºF for my hard drive. It decided to snow last night so having the heater on made the room a little toasty, but here is my current temps:

I am just glad to be done with this problem!
