Some Cheese For Your iPhone

0 #

I felt like writing some new ringtones for the iPhone the last couple days. The first one turned out like complete crap, so here’s attempt number 2… “Cheese”… It’s a very simple happy synth ring… Enjoy!

Introducing Ringz0r1

3 #

Today PolyVector gave me the go ahead on releasing his first ringtone for the iPhone to the public. Now this is his first attempt at creating a ringtone and I for one love it. It is currently our default ring on our iPhone. It is a very simple and calm ringtone. I have always found most default rings on a phone to almost shatter my nerves. I have grown accustom to always keeping my phone on vibrate since any ring would usually be an instant head ache and I never wanted other people to feel the same when my phone rang. So without further adieu I preset to you Ringz0r1 by PolyVector. You can snag it below. You can use it, convert it, redistribute it. We would love to hear your comments as well. And hopefully there will be more ringtones to come.

Edit: I added an MP3 version of the ringtone for those who don’t have an iPhone, QuickTime, or iTunes to play the M4R file. Pick your flavor!

Update: PolyVector chose a license for his work and it has now been included in a single zip with both the iPhone ringtone file and an MP3.

Garageband, Custom Ringtones, and PolyVector

2 #

Yesterdays Garageband update (4.1.1) brought something Polyvector and I have been waiting on since we got our iPhone. The ability to create custom ringtones! We have always wanted a phone that would grant us the ability to annoy others with PolyVector’s creations. I’m not sure if PolyVector will want to place his new ringtones up for grabs, but as I am writing this out he is installing various Apple Jam Packs to get ready to experiment with his new found ringtone freedom.

For those of you also interested in firing up Garageband to make some custom rings for your iPhone, you gotta have iLife ‘08, Garageband 4.1.1, and iTunes 7.5. After that you just gotta follow this handy guide by Apple on How to create custom ringtones in GarageBand 4.1.1. Of course in order to use these you’ll need an iPhone with up-to-date firmware (1.1.2).

I can’ wait to see what will come of this!
