A Little House Cleaning

1 #

Or should I say “blog cleaning?” Atomac went under a little maintenance today which included an update to the Mandigo theme and some logo clean up. A few days ago I went ahead and cleaned up some of the unused features I added to the site. One of which would be the various bookmarking icons that would appear at the bottom of each article. If anyone misses these please go ahead and leave a comment. I would be more than happy to bring it back if there was enough demand. Other than that the site should be in completely normal working order.

I am hoping to get back into my blogging groove despite the up coming traveling that is going to be done this month due to the holidays. I think it would be fun to get some new pictures up sometime as well. The snow is already melting here and it doesn’t look like we’ll be getting any more for some time. I have my fingers crossed that there will be more soon though.

As usually comments and suggestions regarding the site are very much welcome.

Atomac is Down with Mandigo

5 #

Here’s a formal welcome to the newly reworked Atomac! I felt the white of the previous template was a bit too much. Though it really allowed a user (and myself) to focus more on content it just wasn’t working out well when the front page started filling up with articles that did not have images. I do try to include an image when appropriate, but lets be honest, it can’t be every time without things getting to be repetitive.

PolyVector and I both hope you find the new look to be functional as well as visually appealing. Please let us know if something is not working, we’re pretty quick at fixing it up. Now take your time and look around, this template has a lot of nice layout goodies that you can mess with.

By the way, this new template is a slightly modified version of Mandigo by Tom.

Atomac is Growing Up

8 #

PolyVector was talking to me the other day about how the Atomac’s theme was getting on his nerves. I admit that its charm has deteriorated the more I work on the site. While neither of us are designers that meant I had to go out looking for a tolerable theme for us to use. This is a harder task than one might think, so much junk out there, especially in the world of WordPress. After looking at my 100th whatever theme I finally decided Atomac needed to grow up and have a much more minimal look. I finally stumbled upon Pop Blue 3 Columns at Blog Oh Blog. Once I got it setup PolyVector was content and I was feeling much more at home with our new look.

If you have any questions or comments please feel free to express those. In the event anything is out of place or not working we would like to hear about those as well.

Atomac’s Metamorphosis

4 #

Welcome to the new Aomtac.net! Well, I suppose the meat of the site isn’t so different, but I think the new look is pretty spiffy. I am slowly working on getting up all our nifty widgets. Some, like the Last.fm widget, need a little reworking in order to fit into the new side column. So, let us know what you think, just be prepared for minor tweaking over the next week.
